The first MLA of KCR Gajwel after independence is Reddygari Narasimha Reddy. He was a freedom fighter and he even went to Tihar jail during the British rule in India.
After achieving freedom from British rule, the people of India elected him as the MLA of Gajwel. He served the Telangana government for more than 10 years. He is also the first Zilla Parishad chairman of Medak district.
During his tenure as Member of the Legislative Assembly of KCR Gajwel, Narasimha Reddy initiated a drinking water project that aims to provide manjeera water from sangareddy to Hyderabad. He created many jobs for the unemployees of the Gajwel & Medak in all departments. Many Tehsils, R.D.O & Courts started at Medak town.
After his demise in 1962 in an accident, his wife MRS. R.Rathnamma won with a great majority. She served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Gajwel and Ramayampet constituencies from congress party. She was selected as director of national seed corporation, New Delhi. She worked as a MLA of gajwel & ramayampet constituencies from congress party from 1962 – 1972.
